The Children Cycle to Paris
On April 12th at midday the children of Round Hill School will begin to cycle to Paris, France. Will they make it by 5pm?
The children will be cycling a 1 km course around the edge of the school playing field. (there will also be a smaller course around the playground).
- How many laps can each child do?
- Between them, will they get to the 1,074 required?
- Can they do it without parents helping?
- Will the RHA Cycling Team beat their time?
Sponsors will need to guess how many laps children can do and give what they can per lap. All of the money will go towards funding cycle training, so that children can ride on the roads, and bike sheds so that when they can ride to school they can park a bike safely. Money will also go towards buying a minibus so that the number of car journeys can be cut when you get transported to all your clubs.
A large marquee housing some of the Beeston – Paris riders, who happen to know a bit about bike maintenance, will be there to help with fixing children’s bikes as well as mum and dad’s.
If you have a bike you have grown out, or if you know of someone with a bike they don’t use, then please bring it along. Our team of mechanics will clean it, fix it and sell it on for others to use, all proceeds will go to the cause. If you need a part for your bike come along and see if we have got it for you.
There will also be films, a bouncy castle, information stalls and, of course, the famous RHA barbeque as well as some celebrities to meet.
Thanks to Ridewise for their support.
